Turners Decoratives was established by Mark Turner in 1997 and specialises in the restoration and sale of English and Continental decorative Antique Furniture.

The business comprises

1) A high quality restoration and conservation service for most furniture designs, styles and techniques.
2) Sourcing, buying and selling of decorative period furniture and mirrors.
3) A comprehensive Interior Dewcoration service ranging from advising clients on the most appropriate design and finishes to undertaking comissions for the deroration of entire properties.

Turners Decoratives clients include major antique dealers, collectors and interior designers in the United Kingdom and the United States.

Restorations and interior decorative comissions have been undertaken in many historically import properties including churches and other prestigious properties and homes.

History

Mark Turner graduated in 1997 from Manchester College of Arts and Technology with 1st Class BA (Hons) degree in Furniture Restoration and Conservation.

After graduation Mark moved to London where he worked for various leading gilding, frame making and furniture restoration companies before setting up his own business in 1999.

In 2004 the business re-located from London to a larger workshop and showroom in Topsham, Devon. This allowed the business to expand into sourcing, buying and selling decorative period antique furniture.

The business has also experienced an increased demand for ‘on-site’ commissions from interior designers including architectural-gilding, modern and traditional wood finishing, decorative paint effects for walls, ceilings and plasterwork, contemporary finishes and paint effects.

In 2012 the workshop moved to its present larger premises. This also provided storage facilities for the large stock of unrestored mirrors and frames including very large items.

At the same time the showroom was relocated to Tetbury in Gloucestershire.

Studio & Restorations

Our Studio & Restoration section describes the varied services we provide at out main studio and workshop in Devon or on-site at individual customers' properties. You will also find details of the manufacture of replica items where there is a need to achieve exacting, unique designs and finishes for individual items. There are also examples of our hand-made picture frames with designs that are unique to Turners Decoratives.
